City Manager Recruitment Process
The Longmont City Council has completed the process of hiring a City Manager to replace Gordon Pedrow. Gordon is retiring in March after a distinguished 18-year career in Longmont. City Council hired Slavin Management Consultants to conduct the hiring process. Finalists for the position interviewed with council members on January 19 - 20, 2012, and Harold Dominguez was selected. Below are links to more information about the recruitment/hiring process:
Resident Feedback Panel
Thank you for your interest in the Resident Feedback Panel. At this time, we have filled the panel, but are still accepting applications who would serve as alternates to the panel. If you are interested in serving for one year on this community “temperature gauge,” please apply using this online form. The City Manager’s office recruited to fill a 30-person, year-long Resident Feedback Panel. As policy issues arise throughout the year, this panel will meet to provide input on selected issues. Those selected to participate will represent a cross-section of the Longmont community.
City Manager's Office Information
The City Manager's Office (CMO) oversees Citywide administration including all matters related to the City Council. In addition, CMO works closely with the City Clerk's Office and manages the Public Information Program:

City Manager
As provided for by City Charter, the City Manager is the chief administrative
officer of the City and is responsible for the efficient administration of
all affairs of the City. The City Manager directs the work of all City departments
and subsidiary divisions.
The City Manager's office is part of the Department of Administration and
is responsible for: assisting citizens, tracking legislation, providing public
information services, providing administrative support for the Sister Cities
program, providing intergovernmental support and services, leading customer
service efforts for the City, administration and development of the city's
web site, developing city-wide policies and procedures, resolving complaints,
coordinating community activities, planning coordination of City Council agendas,
and providing staff support to the Mayor, City Council members, and other
City departments.
